I have created a collection of 4 coordinate surface patterns called “Perfectly Notional” for the Spoonflower fabric design competition this week. This week Spoonflower is collaborating with Love Patchwork & Quilting Magazine for the theme of sewing notions, objects that I am well acquainted with having come from a long line of proud sewists! Designers were to create a 4 pattern collection that would fit on a yard of fabric. Below you can see my individual designs from the collection to better view the detail – Buttons, Thread, Scissors, Needles.

Featured on Print & Pattern!
Some exciting news – This week I was featured on the amazing Print & Pattern blog (here)! I am a huge fan and have been following it since the blog’s first year. I remember thinking even back then how amazing it would be to one day have my work chosen for showcase. And now, working for the first time under my name and in my own style, that has become a reality! I am full of wonder and gratefulness 🙂
For those of you that aren’t familiar with the website, you should definitely check it out! It’s *the* online resource for discovering the best of the best and all the new trends in print and pattern. Pretty big honor getting chosen to be featured among such revered artists and companies!
Sew My Darling Fabric – Bag
I don’t think there is anything that compares to how awesome it feels to see a design you’ve done out in the world! Someone who purchased my Sew, My Darling fabric off Spoonflower made a few of these bags, I even gifted one to me! So excited 🙂
Space Forest – Fabric8 Cosmic Voyage Entry
Spoonflower has teamed up with the lovely people at Robert Kaufman Fabrics (a highly coveted company for quilters and aspiring textile designers alike!) for Fabric8 again this year. It’s an opportunity for surface pattern designers to get their work in front of the great minds of Robert Kaufman, who will pick their top 100 entries for the semi-finals. No easy feat as last I heard there were over 700 entries! Here is my entry for this years’ cosmic voyage theme, titled “Space Forest.” I didn’t make the semi-finals but I still really enjoyed creating this design!
I had a lot of fun imagining a universe where animals and creatures are not limited to gravity! (or earth realistic colorings haha)
MOYO Magazine Feature
My stitched postcard design from last year has been featured in the new issue of MOYO magazine! This was an original illustrated design that I printed on my inkjet and then hand embroidered (you can read about my process here!). I’d like to explore multiple mediums like this some more, I think it turned out pretty great!
