Winnipeg Eats – Illustrated Map

This year I completed a fairly intensive map piece called “Winnipeg Eats.” It showcases many cherished iconic food establishments and restaurants in and around Winnipeg, Manitoba. I grew up eating at many of these places and think it is wonderful they are still around for people to enjoy 🙂 All the logos are original hand-lettered and illustrated artwork, in fact every bit of lettering on here was done manually by me – even the street names! It was an interesting exercise in conceptualizing and creating lettering in multiple distinct styles in order to show a unique identity for each establishment. If you are ever in Winnipeg, I highly recommend you check these lovely places out!

New Artwork – “Coffee, Soda, Lemonade”

For the final project of Bootcamp (July), we were given a brief that involved making a personal piece of artwork that we would like to put up in our kitchen and that utilized a beverage theme. I decided that I wanted to go the hand-lettered route so started out with sketching the names of beverages that I wanted to use and then added in smaller versions of the physical drinks afterwards. I had a bit of fun with texture and color as you can probably tell! I think this would go great in a kitchen 🙂
