Blue Ribbon – Spoonflower Top 10!

Some great news – My Blue Ribbon pattern placed in the top ten for Spoonflower’s State Fair themed competition a week and a half ago! Spoonflower always takes the most lovely photos of the winning fabrics so I’m sharing some great shots they took below. I love how vibrant the colors look!¬†The fabric is now for sale in my shop here ūüôā

New Pattern Collection – Pink Lemons

This week I have a new pattern¬†collection¬†“Pink Lemons” available in my Spoonflower shop¬†that was¬†inspired by hot sunny days and cool drinks! ¬†And of course, lemonade can always use a bit of sugar, so I ¬†created some sugar cube inspired coordinates “Sweeter” in two colorways – pink and blue, and a pink lemon slice repeat ¬†“Zest.”

“Space Forest” Tee Photoshoot!

I’ve been working on some sewing projects using my fabric designs recently and am so excited to share images from a photoshoot by¬†the wonderful Teri G.! You can check out her fabulous portfolio here. I basically had the cutest model ever, wouldn’t you agree?

My wonderful model¬†is wearing a long-sleeved organic cotton jersey¬†tee in my “Space Forest” fabric. I¬†created the tee with indie sewing pattern company Made by Rae’s “Flashback Skinny Tee” pattern. It was my first time sewing with a Made by Rae pattern and I would definitely recommend this one –¬†easy to use and totally adorable¬†ūüôā This was such a fun project, and I love getting to see my designs being worn in real life! ‚̧

Home Decor Artwork – Scuttle!

Over the past few months I’ve been creating tons of new work for¬†Surtex (which took place two weekends ago), but I haven’t been able to share any of it! I’m excited now to get to share some new designs¬†ūüôā This month I was able to schedule some time for myself to participate in¬†Bootcamp, an online design¬†course run by the fabulous Lilla Rogers! The assignment brief was to create darkly colored crustaceans designed to be used on a set of plates. I had a ton of fun doing this, making my characters a bit more friendly¬†looking than in real life, and challenging myself to not outline any of the artwork so I could really embrace a darker set of colors to use on them. I introduce to you my collection “Scuttle” ! Everyone’s interpretations of the theme and plate collection¬†are phenomenal, I definitely recommend checking out the gallery here!

Surtex 2015 – Brand New Work Preview!

I’m excited to announce my work will be debuting at Surtex this year where I’ll be represented by Cultivate Art Collective in Booth #222! #Surtex is taking place May 17-19/2015 at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC and is a fabulous trade show where artists from all over the word have new designs available to license and sell to many different markets. I’ve been working very hard on creating a ton of new artwork and¬†this is why I’ve been so¬†quiet on the blogging front over the past few months!

I’ve been more active on my¬†Instagram and Facebook where I’ve revealed a few sneak peeks of some brand¬†new surface patterns that will be available at the show! Below you can find my brand new hand-lettered¬†digital flyers with the sneak peek artwork revealed¬†ūüôā If you are at the show, I hope you’ll stop by Booth #222!
